what i read:

I have had a most excellent reading week. Both of these books were fabulous. You can find my reviews HERE
and HERE
I just finished and reviewed White Dog last night. It may be one of my Top 5 reads for a lifetime.
what i am reading:

I've just started The Light Between the Oceans.
Persuasion is being read as readalong with Unputdownables
and I do believe this is a great way to read a classic that might otherwise not be something to hold your interest. Persuasion has not been my favorite Austen.
Stories I Only Tell My Friends by Rob Lowe is my first audiobook ever. I know, I am so slow to join the party. The weather has driven me to indoor running and this has been the perfect solution to while away an hour on the treadmill. This is a most excellent audiobook with a strong recommendation from JU JU
what i am reading next:
Unless something else completely moves me...

I think I'm going to read Persuasion next month. I want to know what you think about it when you end it :)
ReplyDeleteI will let you know. I cannot decide if I am bored with Austen or not digging Persuasion. I'll give you the rundown next week.
ReplyDeleteWow! Possibly one of the top five best books of a lifetime? Wow. That's high praise. Thank you for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteYay - love audiobooks too! I can;t listen to them while running on a treadmill - I need music for that - but while doing weights, it's perfect. I hope you enjoy all your reads this week :-)

I listen to audiobooks constantly while running. It helps to keep me motivated. Of course it really only works for me if I keep it to lighter reading.
ReplyDeleteRight, if you did one of those heavy history books there could be accidents.
DeleteI only started listening to audio books about 2 years ago and now I can't live without them. I now have 2 going at all times - one in the car/house and then another that I listen to while at the gym on the treadmill.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by my blog!

I've heard Light Between the Oceans is wonderful and Little Wolves has been getting raves too. I'll have to check out White Dog if it's as marvelous as you say!
ReplyDeleteI am finishing up The Gospel Centered Woman by Wendy Alsup today (excellent) and that is probably it. I have Beautiful Creatures to start, probably tomorrow. Saw the movie trailer, so went and got the book. And THAT is how a Biblio-nut's mind works!
ReplyDeleteI'll go check out Beautiful Creatures.
DeleteI read the Rob Lowe book last year and really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteSounds like very interesting reads, hope you enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog!
Thanks for your review of Me Before You, I am definitely going to get my hands on a copy! :) Am glad you are enjoying your first audiobook!
ReplyDeleteYay *happy arm dance* I'm so thrilled. Thank you for the shout out and I'm beaming with happiness that you decided to try it on my recommendation.
ReplyDeleteLight Between Oceans sounds SO good.
I trust your judgment JuJu.
DeleteI've heard great things about the Rob Lowe audiobook from JuJu. It'll be interesting to see your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI'll be sure to post something, Jade.
DeleteHi Belle, I like your book list. I've only ever really had one audio book thus far. As you mentioned, it's good for when on the move, jogging, walking, and so on, but since I prefer to write whilst on the move, I've never really had the chance to try another since the first time.
ReplyDeleteOut of your reading now and reading next titles, The Light Between Oceans sounds quite interesting, as well as Little Wolves, for the main reason that they are my favourite animals. Will need to check them out on Amazon or Goodreads.
Happy reading :)
Nathan - I'll look forward to seeing you around. If I think of any more good wolf stories I'll let you know.
DeleteI recently commented on another book about audio books. I have yet to read, well listen, to any, but it took me a while to come round to ebooks so it may happen with time...
ReplyDeleteThe Light Between Oceans cover art is drawing me in... I may have to have a look into that one.
Jane Austen is a classic!
I can't imagine audiobooks becoming something bigger than reading while running for me, but we'll see!
DeleteI had to pop over and check out your review of White Dog, which I am absolutely reading soon now. Little Wolves sounds like a book I would love as well. Looking forward to your review on it. :)
ReplyDeleteMy little pet lover friend, you will adore White Dog.
DeleteYou always have the best books goin' on :) I've seen some good buzz about Rental Sister..can't wait to hear what you think! I'll tell you a secret: I've never listened to an audiobook either ;)
ReplyDeleteI know that I cannot count any audiobooks towards my books read numbers. I will have to have a separate count for audio. That's just me.
DeleteI want to check out Love Anthony. I've liked Lisa Genova's books before, so it's promising!
